And yes, we are truly different. Most other Maryland Roofers don't like us
very much. Why? Because they think we don't play fair. We have designed

Most folks tell me that getting
estimates can be a real burden. First, our competitors' roofing sales programs require that you and your spouse be
home for a few hours while they:
- Measure the roof, usually from the ground.
- Draw up some diagrams.
- Price things out (starting high!).
- Show a bunch of samples of what they want to sell you.
- Then try to lay a heavy duty high pressure sales pitch on
you.
- Bore you to death talking about how great their company is.
- Then you sit there while they fill the contract out for a half
hr.
- They drop the price by 30% when you don't buy right
away.
- They call their "manager" on the phone and offer a fake "manager's special"
for today only.
- When that doesn't work they might try the "hey we'll give you a
discount if we can put a sign in your yard" tactic.
- Then there's the "while we're in the neighborhood it'll be cheaper"
pitch.
- And about another dozen silly reasons to
buy now or you lose out!
C'mon!
People don't fall for that stuff anymore!
So why are they still doing it? I don't
know. And that's if they even show up at the scheduled time. People
tell me that half the time their roofing salesman never showed up... or rescheduled, or something.

At first glance you may think, "Yeah, that's nice but doesn't every roofer do
that?"
Nope. Most roofing salesmen don't even get up on the roof; so they rely on
"other means" to measure up the roof.
Why is this a big deal?
Well, without them getting up on the roof to take exact measurements and
survey the roof, it will cost you money if you become their client.
Let's say my competitor uses a satellite imaging company to measure up a
roof. They're really cool. They produce nice drawings and reports, and can be of great use to
roofers, let's say, in doing insurance claim work.
Problem is... I find their measurements to be off by + or - 15%!
See where I'm going with this?
My competitor will need to charge you a "fudge factor" of 15% to 30% to
cover the margin for error. On an average roof, that's $1,500 to $3,000! Why would you pay
that?
'Nuff said. You shouldn't.

If you DO get a new roof from us
-- and you're wondering which shingle color will look best on your roof, we have a system for choosing roof
colors as well.
I've noticed that with some clients the hardest part of getting a
new roof is choosing the shingle color. It's exciting and a little stressful all at the same time.
So many choices...
The problem is that it's challenging to visualize what your entire roof
will look like based on the small sample boards the roofing manufacturers supply.
Don't worry, you won't have to drive all over the state looking at roof colors on
homes that aren't yours.
Our color picking method? I'll personally put sample shingles up on
your existing roof so you can actually stand back and have a look, and choose the color you absolutely
love. No charge.
Take a couple of days. No hurry.
This method works 100% of the time. You simply can NOT accidently choose the wrong color this
way. Peace of mind!
Does our competition do anything like this? Nope. They sure don't.
Just another reason why many other roofers DO NOT like us. But that's
OK -- we wear that as a 'Badge of Honor'.

Q: "Well Bill, maybe I don't need a new roof. Maybe
I just need a repair. Are you going to be like every other roofer I've had out -- that no matter what -- says I
need a whole new roof? My roof's only eight years old!"
No. I hear ya'. That's a problem in the roofing industry. Actually, it has a lot
to do with the way many of my competitors set up their businesses.
Quickly, here's the main problem. It all has to do with money.
Take your average roofing salesman. Most of them make around 10% per sale. He has
to:
1) Drive to your house.
2) Get up on the roof (well, maybe).
3) Figure out what's wrong (if he's qualified).
3) Sometimes go up in the attic.
4) Write up a contract.
5) Convince one of the company's crews to do the work (most crews HATE doing
repairs).
6) Get that big fat commission check.
That's right, about $30 to 40 bucks commission for a few hours of work and
pay for gas too.
Or ... throw out a longshot, try to sell you the new roof that you don't need
yet, hope you bite, and make 10% of fifteen-to-twenty-thousand-dollars. Almost 70x the commission for the
sales guy!
Sound familiar?
Fact is, for many roofing companies there's not enough money in roof repairs for
them to do it any other way. Unless they just send some guy out to smear a little 'goop' around for fifteen minutes
and charge $300 dollars. Hmmm.
